INTEL DUAL BAND WIRELESS AC 3160 DRIVER VERSION 18.33.5.1 DRIVERS
Query by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card. Ensure the wireless adapter drivers are updated on the laptop. I have unchecked any boxes in power management settings that would disable network connection to save power. Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi + BT4.0 HP Part 717381-001 Both cards are readily available on eBay or Amazon, and don't cost very much at all. Yesterday I updated to Windows 10 to see if that would alter the way the driver is behaving - nope. Version: 18.33.5. In the past I would just go into devices through the control panel, and disable then enable the Ac3160 driver and that would seem to do the trick to get me through the day. Now it's at the point where the lap top is simply unusable. More recently, within the past week, the disconnects have become far more frequent. (Connection to my router would display a yellow exclamation point, say limited, and all other networks would disappear from view).
Device Name: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160. When I would close the notebook it would disconnect from WiFi, and every few hours it would disconnect as well. Version: 18.33.5. Download PCIVEN8086&DEV08B3&SUBSYS00728086 device driver for Windows 7, XP, 10.
It first began with periodic disconnects when I was using Windows 8.1. I have been having serious problems with my HP Pavilion 17 Notebook's WiFi driver.
